Reader Plates 2.3.0 for the iPad

19 SEP 2011

Reader Plates for the iPad™ includes new routing features in the latest update. Routes may now be specified using Arrival & Departure codes, Victor & Jet airways, or even Q & T route codes. For example, "KAUS CWK4 ILEXY COACH1 KHOU" will generate the complete route using both the departure and arrival procedures. Or enter "KCRP ATHIS V568 SAT KAUS" and the nav log will include all the waypoints with heading changes along V568 from ATHIS to SAT.

And when it comes to approaches there's a great new feature for them too. With version 2.3.0 the fixes for many approach procedures may be displayed overlaying the IFR enroute and VFR charts. This makes it very easy to visualize the transition enroute to an approach. Or plan a training flight with approaches into multiple airports. Approach fixes are color coded to match the airport tabs, so approaches at nearby airports may be displayed simultaneously.
