Sample Download for Sony PRS-505:

The download below is a single book from Reader Plates for the Sony PRS-505.  The sample covers only the U.S. Virgin Islands (A - Z).  It is provided here without our installation process, so you'll need to manually download & copy it to your reader.

If the link opens in Adobe Acrobat or Reader you can use "File -> Save A Copy..." to save it directly to your reader. Or you can right-click the link and choose "Save Link As...", and save the file to whatever drive letter is assigned to your Sony reader.

Note:  We highly recomend the version 1.1 update for the PRS-505, and it is required for the full subscription download. You can determine the version installed on your reader by choosing 'Settings' from the top-level menu, then select 'About'. The version number is listed on the first line of the page. The required version number is '1.1.00.18040' or higher.

Important Buttons:

First of all, always verify the magnify level is set to "S" next to the battery level on the status bar.  This will ensure the largest possible full-page view is displayed.

Press the magnify button to step through "M" and "L" until "S" is displayed.

Press 'MENU' to move up one level in the menu tree, or press & hold 'MENU' to display the top-level menu.
Press '5' from the top-level menu to view the “Collections”, or list of U.S. States, Territories, and supplemental sections.
Press '5' from the book menu to view the “Table of Contents”, or list of cities contained in that book.
Use the page left & page right buttons to page through multiple-page menus, and books.
While an approach is displayed, you may press 'SELECT' at the center of the four-way arrow hat, to cycle through the top, bottom, and full views of the page.
While an approach is displayed, you may press 'BACK' to view previous pages in your viewing history. This can be particularly useful for glancing back at an arrival procedure, once you've already selected an approach.
While viewing history pages you may press 'FORWARD' to move forward in time through the history.
While an approach is displayed, you may press 'UP' or 'DOWN' to toggle between black-on-white and white-on-black mode.
